RELIGIOUS Notice

Public Warning

This public service hub issues this notice to protect the faithful from misleading claims of religious affiliation to the Redemptorists or the Transalpine Redemptorists within the Christchurch region.

Authentic Redemptorist vs. Claims

Transparency is the cornerstone of religious integrity. In Christchurch, certain groups have used the name Transalpine Redemptorists without permission from the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer or even the Holy See.

We provide the historical and canonical markers required for legitimate ministry. These markers ensure that the sacraments, teachings, and spiritual guidance offered are in full communion with the Catholic Church and the Bishop of Christchurch.

  • Official listing in the New Zealand Catholic Directory
  • Canonical appointment by the local Ordinary (Bishop)
